The United States has recently surpassed both China and the United Kingdom in Bitcoin holdings, amassing approximately 198,000 BTC valued at over $20 billion.
China’s reserves stand at about 190,000 BTC while the UK holds around 61,000 BTC. Together, these three nations control nearly 449,000 BTC, which constitutes roughly 2.1% of the entire Bitcoin supply.
A significant portion of the U.S. Bitcoin assets originates from confiscations linked to illegal activities. During Donald Trump’s presidency, there were discussions regarding the creation of a national Bitcoin reserve aimed at reinforcing America’s position in the cryptocurrency landscape.
