Cryptocurrency expert Joao Wedson has issued a cautionary note to investors in light of the recent market surge. He highlighted that the current valuations are not appealing, especially for XRP, Solana (SOL), and Binance Coin (BNB).
“These cryptocurrencies have already appreciated significantly, making the risk/reward ratio unfavorable for investors,” Wedson explained. He also noted that Bitcoin (BTC) is at a similar juncture: “Market makers are aware of this situation. We should reconsider our stance on BTC.”
Wedson elaborated on his investment approach, which targets projects yet to see substantial growth but show potential signs of moving beyond their accumulation phase. He stressed the importance of basing investment decisions on rational and quantifiable data rather than personal bias:
“Avoid investing merely because you favor Project A or B. That approach only turns you into an enthusiast. The key is selecting investments that are logical, measurable, and present a favorable risk/reward balance.”
He provided Zcash (ZEC) as an illustrative case study. Recalling his firm’s acquisition of ZEC at low prices when it was dismissed as a ‘dead’, irrelevant Bitcoin clone by many, he remarked: “We bought it precisely then when sentiment was negative. Our takeaway is simple: purchase when demand is low and sell when it’s high.”
