BlackRock loads up on nearly $300 million of these two cryptocurrencies in 4 days

Even though the cryptocurrency market saw choppy consolidation during the first week of October 2026, BlackRock Inc.’s (NYSE: BLK) crypto portfolio added more than $291 million.

BlackRock’s crypto portfolio surged by $291.7 million during the past four exchange-trading days through October 6, according to data Finbold analyzed from SoSoValue on October 7.

BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) purchased Bitcoin ($BTC) worth $545.57 million between October 1 and 6. As such, IBIT increased its net assets to $9.62 billion.

BlackRock’s iShares Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHA) divested Ethereum ($ETH) valued at $253.87 million over the past four exchange-trading days. On October 6, ETHA’s net assets dropped by approximately $201.89 million, its largest single-day decline since January 21.

As such, BlackRock’s ETHA held 3,656,389.78 Ethereum, currently worth over $9.8 billion, as per its official website.

Bitcoin and Ethereum price action amid BlackRock’s transfers

As this fund manager accumulated over 4,000 Bitcoin during the past four days, $BTC price climbed roughly 1.13%, trading at about $83,960 at the time of writing. Consequently, Bitcoin had a market capitalization of about $1.7 trillion.

On the other hand, Ethereum’s price had fallen by over 3% at the time of reporting, retesting $2,597. This altcoin has a market cap of $314.7 billion.

During the past 24 hours, Ethereum’s trading volume surged by over 70% to $18.2 billion as per metrics from CoinMarketCap.

As a result, BlackRock’s Bitcoin and Ethereum transfers over the past four exchange-trading days influenced their price performance over the last seven days.
