For the first time since September, Bitcoin ($BTC) has managed to conclude a month with positive price movement, albeit by a very narrow margin.
The cryptocurrency started the month at $67,000 and finished at $68,221. This translates to a modest increase of approximately $1,200 per coin or 1.8%.
To put this into perspective, $BTC typically experiences such fluctuations within mere minutes on an average trading day.
The crypto community was invigorated by even the slightest indication that the prolonged bear market might be coming to an end and celebrated this shift in momentum.
The Fear and Greed Index reached its lowest point of five out of 100 on February 6, 2026. However, it has since risen significantly to around 31 if you look closely enough.

A Slightly Better Month for $BTC
The period leading up to March had been particularly grim for Bitcoin investors.
On October 6, 2025,$BTC‘s value exceeded $126,000 but plummeted to around $60,000 by February 6.
The monthly losses were unyielding; total cryptocurrency market capitalization saw declines of $200 billion in October alone followed by drops of $610 billion in November and further losses through December ($110 billion), January ($300 billion), and February ($350 billion).
This trend shifted slightly in March with a gain of just $40 billion—still quite minimal compared to previous losses.
Nonetheless,$BTC‘s current value is still up by about 14% from its low point of $59,930 recorded on February 6. There’s been some recovery despite ongoing bearish conditions globally due to war and economic factors.
