Phong Le, the CEO of Strategy, has indicated that if Morgan Stanley were to allocate a portion of its assets to Bitcoin, it could spark a significant surge in cryptocurrency purchases. In a recent social media update, Le highlighted that Morgan Stanley’s asset management division oversees an impressive portfolio valued at around $8 trillion.
Le explained that if the firm opts for a 2% allocation—sitting in the middle of their proposed range of 0% to 4% for Bitcoin—it could result in approximately $160 billion entering the market. This figure is estimated to be nearly three times larger than BlackRock’s IBIT fund, which is currently one of the most substantial spot $BTC ETFs available.
The potential influx was referred to by Phong Le as “Monster Bitcoin,” suggesting that such demand could significantly enhance liquidity within the Bitcoin market and lead to considerable price increases.
Experts emphasize that decisions made by major institutional investors regarding $BTC can drastically alter market conditions, particularly during times when supply is constrained.
